A Message for Wood County Foster Care

First off – the panel was overwhelmed by the creativity and the time your students put into the project for us! We loved so many of the designs the students created! We had a really hard time deciding which to use. We actually have still only narrowed it down to two logo’s.

There were so many great ideas, the designs and sayings, that we would like to be able to utilize them within the future. At this time, the two I attached, we are looking to move forward using right away. We were wondering if it possible to make two slight changes. We were wondering if for the “Love Share-Foster Care” design, if Nou could add in “Wood County Foster Care” above or below her design. And on the second one, we wondered if the student could adjust the second half of the heart (top/right side) to be in the color red?

Congratulations!!!! Great Work Everyone!!!

POS continues-Layers!!

Program of Studies
Lots of people did not either complete their sketches, or did not get peer reviews. Other people did not show are the required elements. Some of you did not circle your intended design or designs. Get the sketches wrapped up, and turned in ASAP! Move on to the computer to design the final:
  • Begin with the background first. Build a base for your cover that is made of texture or pattern. A plain white background is not visually interesting to look at, and will not add much to your design.
  • In-lining is a great way to create depth and layers to the text.
  • Create a focal point in your design.
    • what do you want the viewer to look at first.
    • lead the viewer around the design through the use of line, color, shape and texture.
  • Opacity changes can be added to create interesting layers
  • Use image trace to change a photograph or drawing into vector art

Sorry! I have a meeting...

Computer Graphics has the following tasks:

  • Scan pieces from yesterday. Students are grouped by rows. Facing the Screen, the right hand side has a scanner in each row. One student in that row can help the other 3 scan.Use the same groups, and primary login people as before. The left hand side can go to the to the main art room to scan. The main person should go to login and one other student from the row. When the 2nd student completes their scan, they can return, and send another student. If the scanners in our room are available, students can also use them.  Morgan can choose where she wants to go. Not everyone needs to scan, so only go down if it is necessary.
  • Icon tutorials-Dirty Water Drop or Panda. If you are done, you can complete the Bazinga or other icon tutorial. You may not play games on the computer.
  • 10 Sketches for Wood County Foster Care Program
  • Peer Review

Tutorials and Icons

We will be starting icons.  They are most often used as a combination logo with typography. This is the final logo type we will create this term. We will be working with an actual client on Wednesday. You will be able to ask questions to better understand the needs of the logo and the client.

A google doc was place in the google drive for you to find and add combination logos that you think are really interesting.

Continue to work on your panda or water drop tutorial.

This video will help get you started.

4 Logo Wrap-up

First wrap-up the final details of the 4 logos.

Second go to our Google Folder and locate the 4 templates for the logos we designed before break. Download each template. Delete the WR logos, and copy and paste the proper logo into each template. Remember to use shift when you resize the logo to properly fit in the provided space. The template cannot be changed beyond the logo and the name information, but it can be adjusted for proper alignment. Save these into your H drive.

Third as a group, watch the isolation mode video. The tutorials are found under the video and tutorial tab.

Finally, you will work on the WOW tutorial. Complete Bazinga as an extra challenge if time allows.
